Dr. Elwood was called up to Foremans Saturday to attend master Jimmie who is quite sick Margaret Magill has gone to Wamic whore she expects to make her home and attend school . John Ward was a Maupin ' viiitor Saturday. A. L. Hartman went to Port land Friday on a business trip. Mrs. Delore is visiting htr daughter in Portland. Harry Lassenger who left here about 1J years ago has returned to these parts lately. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kether ford were guests over night Sun day with Mrs. Hedin and Nova. S. N. Hill moved into Matt. Busic's house Saturday. j The cattle men's association; held their annual meeting and eleclion Saturday, February 3 inl the hall. Twenty-six members were present. The following of ficers were elected: Pres. Ben Foreman, Vice Pres. C. Walker. Sec. J. M. O'Brien, Tres. Ben Formam, Executive Com. are Ollie Bothwell, Ben Gabel, Geo. Claymier, and L. D. Woodside. According to new ruling, per sons turning cattle out on range must have one bell for every 5 head of cattle. A little daughter arrived Feb. 2 to gladden i,the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. John Boen. S N. Hill and family were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. L, M. Woodside Sunday. Vivian Barzee was absent from school the first of this week be cause of sickness. Winifred Hackler of Portland and Elsie Hackler of The Dalles arrived Friday for a brief visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs Emil Hackler. George Morris returned from Wendling'Oregon Saturday. Harphams purchased the pool hall and confectionery from H. Anderson last week and took possession Friday night. It will here after be known as the Har pham Confectionery and Pool hall. Mr. Harpham states they will run the restaurant in the hotel building and have a full line of confections at the pool hall. They have removed -the pool tables from the hotel to the place of business they purchased from Anderson. Dee Talcott returned from Portland Saturday. Mrs. Tal cott remained in The Dalles for treatment. U. Endersby, Mrs Julia Ender sby and baby were in Maupin Tuesday. John Charles was a business visitor in Maupin Tuesday. Albert Hill was over from Smock Monday, Chas. Crofoot was a Maupin visitor Tuesday. J. H. Shivley was a Maupin visitor from Smock Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. A.
