MARTIN Wamic News Brazil Kinworthy who was drowned near his home at' Has kins was a former resident of this place, spending his early childhood days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kin worthy. He was drowned while helping with a drive of logs on the 16th of this month. His body had not been recovered when the message came announ cing his death. He was about eighteen years old. This is the second tragic death to occur in the Kinworthy family recently. A little grandson , while riding on a wagon with his father was thrown from the seat falling be neath the wheels which passed over him killing him instantly. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brittain are about the proudest and happiest people in Tygh Valley just now and all because they are the par ents of a baby boy, weighing 11 pounds, born on the 23rd of this month. Names being scarce, the call him Jack Robbot Harvey C. Martin, an old time resident of this place, but now living near Yakima Washington, after spending a month with rela tives on Juniper Flat and in Duf ur returned home Monday of last week. Mrs. H. C. Uake went to Port land Thursday where she will make her future home. Many were here for the mask dance Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Don Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Crabtree, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chastain attended the dance from Juniper Flat. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Woodcock, Lenore Woodcock and Irma Dri ver attended the dance from Smock. The Woodcocks stayed until Sunday at the Frank Driver home. Irma Driver stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Woodcock and Lenore was a guest of Car mel Woodcock. Percy Driver is among those who have the grippe the past week. I. D. Driver is improving some He and Mrs. Driver are at the Bill Johnson home. Jim Kennedy returned Satur day from a two weeks stay in The Dalles. Jimmy Johnson finds the roads very bad between here and Sher ars Bridge. He has to carry the mail by team and hack since the high water has ruined the roads. Gotlieb Teschner is hauling it to Mr. Abbotts ranch. N. G. Hedin returned home Wednesday from Portland where he has. been this last week. L. D. Woosdide and Anna West came home Tuesday night from Portland, where they have been the past month'. Professor P. W. Loyd, return ed Monday from Colorado and has resumed work in the high school. S. N. Hill and family are stop ping for the present at the home of John Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Sharpe returned Wednesday from The Dalles where they visited with theN. W. Flinn family. Calvin Burnside returned Fii day from Newton, 111. where he has been for several months. He expects to remain with the George Burnside family indefini te Jesse Cox returned from Princ ville Wednesday. U. S. Enders by wbo went hunting with him went on to The Dalles to have some dental work done. Florence Woodside, who was taken to The Dalles hospital in a critical condition last Friday is better or slowly gaining at this writing. Elsie and Robert Lewis spent part of tost week with . their grandmother at her home above Tygh. Mrs. L. M. Woodside is stay ing at the home of her son, Wal ter caring for the children dur ing the absence of their parents in The Dalles. The weather is quite snappy, more snow falling.
