Maupin A little over a year ago, Sept ember 10th, 1921 to be exact, we had the misfortune to report Maupin as a burned town scarce ly anything left in the business section, devastation and ruin marking the disasterou3 path of the fire fiend. Our pewspaper slogan at that time, as it has always been WATCH MAUPIN GROW has been more than verified. Witness today, a trifle over a years time and observe the pro gress that has already been made in the number of fine dwellings and business houses that now adorn what was, a short time ago a fire swept waste, Incorporation has already made good its promise, with a promise of better things to come in the matter of Electrical Power End Lighting and ample water supply for the town. A safe and sane commutii y, one built strictly on it3 merits and in keeping with the natural progress of the surrounding country whose interests it has always had at heart. As this issue goes to press we point with pride to the new High School now nearing completion; a last ing monument to the forethought and industry of our people. It is to your interests to HELP MAUPIN GROW Wamic News All rural route patrons should try and co operate with the rural carrier as much as possible such as keeping the mud holes and low places in the road drained, having mail boxes placed in as convenient a place as possible etc it all helps toward better service George and Arby Magill went to The Dalles Tuesday, bringing out a load of freight for the A.
