Maupin
A little over a year ago, Sept
ember 10th, 1921 to be exact, we
had the misfortune to report
Maupin as a burned town scarce
ly anything left in the business
section, devastation and ruin
marking the disasterou3 path of
the fire fiend. Our pewspaper
slogan at that time, as it has
always been
WATCH MAUPIN GROW
has been more than verified.
Witness today, a trifle over a
years time and observe the pro
gress that has already been made
in the number of fine dwellings
and business houses that now
adorn what was, a short time
ago a fire swept waste,
Incorporation has already made
good its promise, with a promise
of better things to come in the
matter of Electrical Power End
Lighting and ample water supply
for the town.
A safe and sane commutii y,
one built strictly on it3 merits
and in keeping with the natural
progress of the surrounding
country whose interests it has
always had at heart. As this
issue goes to press we point with
pride to the new High School
now nearing completion; a last
ing monument to the forethought
and industry of our people. It
is to your interests to
HELP MAUPIN GROW

The Difference
In Women Today and What They Used to Be
They will go up to the hair store and buy themselves a switch;
It is either skunk or coyote hair you have got to guess for which
They will wrap it all around their heads and try to look so cute,
But they look just like a poodle dog, but you know he is a brute.
They will go to the drug store and buy paint, powder, face cream
Gee, I hate the smell of it; It will make a house cat scream.
They will stand before the looking glass with paint brush and shears
And try to daub a wrinkle up that has been there 20 years.
If you feel a little spunky or wan to have a fight,
Just mention setting dinner up before she gets it right.
They will stand before the looking glass for hours at a time
And rub the stuff all over them that didn't cost a dime.
You will phjase not get offended for what I have had to say,
But it certainly is disgusting when you see it every day.
What this is they will come to very few people know.
They will get one yard of cloth today and make a suit of clothes.
When I was foung it was different my folks were very poor;
I used to wear the canvas pants, a shirt and nothing more.
