White sold his four lots in Maupin to John F.oley and Frank Dyer the first of the week and left Tuesday with his family for Marshfield Oregon. Marion Driver and wife from Waterville, Wn., for the cele bration at Tygh. Marion Burlingame and family of Fairview came home for the celebration. . There was entertainment of many kinds, the program lasting for two days, both the 3rd and 4th. The baseball was furnished by teams from Wasco, Dufur, Mau pin and Antelpe and remarkable games were staged. Monday Dufur won over Wasco by a large margin. Tuesdays game between Grass Valley and our Maupin boys was hotly contested and won by Grass Valley with a score of 12 to 14. Orchestra, Oratory, dancing, racing ond many athletic events had their places on the program. A ten-round boxing bout prov ed a big attraction. Various concessions furnished refreshments and entertainment Plj!r was there with his pic ture. The irregular blasts of Wapinitia Mrs. Lewis Stockston of Redd ing California, is visiting with her sister Mrs. Phil Mott. Robert Tapp came from Eug ene Wednesday and has gone to work for Graham at the road I camp. Mr. and Mrs. Graham were Dalles visitors on Wednesday. Mrs. Carrie Weberg went to Pendleton Friday to see her son Alfred. Charles Sharpe and family of Los Angeles came by auto to visit his brother David Sharpe of this place. Chas. DcLore and family are visiting at the home of his parent Nell Harpham was a visitor with homefolks over the fourth. Mrs Chester Brittain and children of Wamic were week end visitorss with the Sharpe family. Anna and Ishom West were in F, H Chastain and family are herefrom Yakima visiting friend and relatives.
