Lena Woodcock who bas )een ill and who was taken to The Dalles two weeks for medical reatmetit is at the hospital now tfter spending several days at the home of Miss Edna Driver. Mr. and Frank Driver received m announcement of the marri ge of their son Marion to Miss v.isti Glascock at Waterville on the 21st of March. MK Driver rainiliarly called by his school mates, "Tunny", has many friends here who wish him a .'iappy future. They left for a honeymoon trip to California. The heavy rains of the later iait of week before last and the former part of last week did much damage to the roads. Bill Woodcock returned from The Dalles Saturday. He got his car stuck in the mud at King sley and had much difficulty in getting through that place. Loyd Smith assisted Mr. Wood cock and Jim Kenney in getting over the mud. Dr. and Mrs. W. A. Short came over from Dufur Sunday and are at the I. D. Driver home L. T Arneson of The Dalles, and Frank Driver are wondering how fortune favored them last Saturday from losing their lives when the formers car plunged from the grade in a very steep place when they w ere descending the Tygh grade. Mr. Driver es caped unhurt and walked to Tygh for help for Mr. Arneson who wa3 badly hurt, He was taken to The Dalles for medical treat ment.
