He is Burvived by three sons, Thoma3 and William of The Dalles and Harry of Silver ton, Oregon; and three daught ers, Hazel, formerly a resident of The Dalles, but now of Ana conda, Montana; Mrs. Eugene Chase of Duf ur, and Mrs. G. Woodside had a merry Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Graham. A large crowd attended-thf dance given by E. A. Cyr and Mose Dclore Jr. at the hall last Fiiday night. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Rich mond attended the Christmas program at the Powell school house on Friday night. Mr. Woodside who was visit in his uncle at this place has returned to his home at Kinge Valley. He thinks he will move his family here next year. E. A- Hartman, wife and daughter were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cyr at a goose dinner on Christmas day. The many friends of Mis. be pleased to know she is much better. Robert Kllftiwood made a trip I to Maupin Friday to meet N. G. Hedi i who was returning from Portland. Saturday evening a program and Chiistmas Up was held at the Eine Grove schnnl. Every one present enjoyed a good time and had the priviledte of greet ing old Santa. Mr. and Mrs. Shipflin were agreeably supriaed Sunday night when about 25 of their lViends from Wapinitia drove up there in a bobsled to spend the e ek ing and make merry. Monday was the occasion of another good time at t he Shipflln ho.ne. The following partook ol a big chi'hen dinner with all the rlxin's that Mrs. Shipllin knows to well how to prepare: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daughlin and three children, Mr. and Mrd. G.'urge Burnside and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and two daught ers, Mr. and Mrs. Dav id Sharpe and daughter, Rev. Parker and family, Mr. Dane, Miss Mahaney and the Shipflins. Christmas was celebrated on Monday at the mission church at Simnasho, Rev. Matthews re ports 200 present. Mr. and Mrs. Hedin and Nova spent Christmas with the Reth' erfords. Thy had a tine time and became better acquainted with Barbara Lee. Miss Compton speht her vaca tion with friends in Wamic. Grandma Delco is improving. Mrs. Maddron has been on the sick list the past week. Fred Magill and family enjoy ed a good dinner and fine time with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Tesch ner Sunday. Mrs. R. W.
