She will remain until after the holi days. A dance at the Bargariholt house was enjoyed Friday night. , A card party was given at the Percy Driver home Friday night. Lunch was served. Mrs. Elsie Campbell is able to be out after an attack of illness. We are having our coldest weather, of the season just now. Snow has been falling since Sat urday night being carried by a cold east wind. Today it is brown with a covering of . dust. It has reached a depth of six or eight inches. Beauty reigned supreme in the sky Friday morning at the rising ant in the evening when the sun was bidding good bye to earth and sky. The fleecy clouds ranging from south east to south west became picturesque with colorings of red arid gold shift ing and changing constantly un t ill they essumed many tints of the rainbow, showing the most brilliancy in the south west. At the beginning of the recent storm, T. A. Seufert went out to feed his stock early one morning and found a two year old heifer lying dead. He thinks its death was due to the kick of a horse, as some horses had broken into the lot the previous day wlirc the calf was being fed. The heifer was a' fine bred animal from the Jersey herd of dairy cows of Bert Bagley in The Dal les and belonged to Mrs. Josie Lake. Wapinitia Born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Retherford, December 16, a Kings Valley are visiting at the home of their uncle L. M. Wood side. N. G. Hedin is in Portland but expects to be home for Christ mas. Mrs. Ed Davis, who has been sick for some time is again able to sit up. Lincoln Hartman has returned from The Dalles. Dad Hartman is still confined to his room. This makes about two months of shut-in life for dad. .
