Jimmy Patison was here from The Dalles Thursday staying over night at the Bud Patison home. Willard Wing made a hasty trip to The Dalles Thursday tak ing his father, who was called to Spokane by the serious illnes of his daughter Lula Karis. Latei a message from Mr. Wing said his daughter's condition had im proved. Another message this morning said she had been oper ated on. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Booth took their baby to Maupin yes terday for medical treatment. Clifford Palmateer went with them. Bert Knighten and family were here yesterday from lower Tygh, A party consisting of Ceorge Magill, Bert Knighten, Theodore Surrurier, Dell Parkard, John Eubanks, Charley Crofoot and their families spent Sunday on White river. Willie, Willis, and Vard Norval and their families Arby Magill Mr. and Mrs. Al Gillis and Mr. and Mrs. Al Bernhagen went to the ball game at Maupin Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Frank Magill brought several crates of straw berries from Maupin Thursday that had been shipped from Port land. Lester Crofoot returned Sun day from Monmouth where ,he spent a week. Ais father, George Crofoot accompained him to The Dalles, coming over the High way Many attended the show and dance here Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Plyler remained over I night at the Willis Norvel home. George Miller was here from White river yesterday. Irma Munier had an attack of tonsilitis the latter part of the week. Percy Driver and Belvie Pati son were Dalles visitors last week. Tom Dunsmore of Portland and Harvey Morris of Maupin were here Friday. Glen Lucas came over from Dufur Saturday where he has been working in the harvest field. '. Howard Blackerby and family George Magill and family of Wamic were visiting Sunday at the Rev J. L Parker home. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Brown just returned from a trip to The Dalles. Allen Goodenough who has been serving in the U. S. Army returned here Monday. Ben Foreman made a trip tc The Dalles this week. Ray Sharpe of Wamic is visit ing in this vicinity this week. Secretary... 209, Base Ball The last baseball game at home for the season was witness ed last Sunday by one of the largest congregations of baseball fans ever assembled on the local field. The game was played between teams from Antelope and Maupin and resulted in an 8 to 6 score in favor of the home team. Each side made some costly errors, letting in some unearned runs. The Maupin team showed superior playing all through the game. Dr. Stovall leaves next Sun day with his team for Pineville to play in a four game series during the 4th of July celebra tion held at that place. The main feature for the big July 4th entertainment is a ball game be tween the Maupin boys and a Semi-Pro team from Portland. The "game at Prineville will close the baseball schedule for this season. Dr. T.
