Wool Weavers itie announcement tnat tne wool grower 8 of Washington are dI anninff to market their tro- ducts as cloth instead of raw material, with the object in view of eliminating the marketing charges of the middleman, is of unusual interest not only on acc ount of its being a new departure in the wool induatry of the state but as a posbible plan for disro3 ing of a large Dart of the wool of other sections of the northwest. The announcement, it is stated follows a trial of the plan which was put into effect recently by having some Washington wool made into cloth at a local woolen mill and then sold to local tailor?. The plan worked successfully and the idea now is for the Washington Wool- growers' association to contract with manufacturers to have the assoc iation establish a department for the marketing of the cloth with i the makers of clothing. While the beginning of this new idea in marke'ing the wool crop of Washington is small in its way, it presents possibilities that may prove most important and of great benfit in the future. At least it presents in a tentative way the opportunity for an added channel for the disposal of part of the nornhwest wool crop profitably. NOTICE FOR PUBLICATION Department of the Interior U. S.
