Parties of young people of this place and Tygh went to the Mit Wing place Tuesday night to charivari the newly married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Wing. They are ponular young people of this place and their many friends wish them a happy union. They will reside at the Lon Wing farm. Postmaster Emmit Zumwalt and family were saddened Mon day morning when their dog "Binger" was run over by the stage and hurt in such a manner that he had to be killed. Frank Magill held a sale of farm implements and live stock at his home here Saturday. Many persons attended. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Luca3 lost their house by fire Thursday morning. They were able to save most of the furniture in the downstairs rooms, bat lost prac tically everything avove. The fire was thought to have origin ated from the burning out of a flue. Bud Patison came from The Dalles Monday. Mrs. Patison is at the Jimmie Patison home. "C. M. Plyler of Grass Valley, gav6 a movie show here Satur day night. Dancing followed. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Kennedy were Dalles visitors last week, returning Saturday. This place has had a touch of winter the past week. Heavy winds blew for several days fol lowed by a fall of two inches of snow Saturday night and Sunday morning. Grandma Kin worthy is still improving and able to sit up some. A dance was given at the Weber home above Tygh Valley Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller were here today from the White river plant. Miss Alma Driver accompanied them home. A girl baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mart New Tuesday. Mart New carried the rural mail last week to Smock while Frank Magill was preparing for his sale. A meeting of the Badger Creek Ditch was held here Mon day. NOTICE TO OWNERS OF PROPERTY IN WASCO COVNTY In accordance with Chapter 127 of the General Laws of Orezon it is the duty of all owners of property infested with ground squirrels, gophers, sage rats, or otner noxious rodents to eradi cate tuch rodents by poisoning or other ehective means. April lu, is hereby set as the date on or before which such poisoning must be done. Any suitable poison may be used. Poison is now available in most com munities and can also be obtained from the office of the county agricultural agent. The presence of large numbers of rodents upon any land after April 10, 1921, shall be deemed sufficient evi dence that such land has not been poisoned. Persons appointed by the county court for that purpose are authorized to enter upon any property not poisoned by April 10, 1921, and poison the same. The costs of such poison and labor will be added to the taxes of the owners of such land. An earnest appeal is made to all property owners to enter int the spirit of the law and make a sincere attempt to destro.t the rodents whish do thous ands of dollars worth of damage every year. The Madas team has the ad vantage of the local team, hav ing had two or three weeks' practise. The home boys will go into the game with only one week's practise. Our team is made up of players so a good game is expected. Among the lost year's players who were out to practise last bunday were Kennick, Confer, Arthur and George Morris, Rov Morrow, and Andrew Cunning ham.
