No one took the January eighth grade examinations. We want four graduates in May. The Maupin Athletic Club met at 7:30 Tuesday evening with an unusual large gathering-. The treasurer reported all bills paid up to date of submission. The lighting committee has purchased a new gas lamp, and the wrestling mat committee are now working on a wrestling mat By motion it was agreed that a business meeting would he held the firat Tuesday of each month. Tuesday Feb. 1st. will be election of officers. The Literary Society will hold a meeting Friday afternoon We will elect officers for the re maining term. Two of the high school pupils were exempted from all the ex' animations, while most of the others were exempt from one 01 more. All made a passing grade and received their credits for the half years work. The work of the first semestei wm quite satisfactory, but the following semester should show a decided gain in the students ability to grasp the new work Also it should be the heaviest work of the year. The measles mm to be getting hetter. Several of the sick ones have returned to school. The gramraer grade room has had a splendid record of no ab sence, and no tardiness for two weeks, but the measles spoiled the record for the rest of the month. Ihe splendid public tpirit shown by several of the citizen? of the community, by civinc their time and ability in aiding the pupils of the school In then ulnra school activities, especially in the gymnasium, orchestra and musio work is de3erring of high commendation and is, we are sure, much appreciated by the community, the teachers and by tho pupils themsehes. Y thank you. Louis Herthick C.E. Iweir.P We have just received word from the 01 iver Chilled Plow Works that spring prices on Plows will be much lower. We have on the way a goodly stock of repairs and plows, but it would be well to look over your implements and order now any parts you may need. Oliver Plows need no explaining to the Farmers in this vicinity as their super iority over other makes that are ex ploited as "just as good" is well known to all. We can now offer you liberal terms on J. I. Case Tractors and it could not be done unless we had implicit faith in Case Tractors and their long life. Case Machinery like Oliver Plows are well known to every Farmer and when you want the Very Best that can be had in these lines See Us. Ilsoifii Cc R.E.W QUALITY-FIRST, ALWAYS 3C &k "www.
