Wamic Joe Chastain and Mart New were Dalles visitors Monday. Percy and Alma Driver were Maupin visitors Tuesday. Mrs. Irma Munier arrived Thursday from Bend. Tom WoodcotOand Mrs Mabel Hull went to Sherars Bridge Thursday to meet Mrs. Woodcock and Mrs. Norval who were re turning from a weeks stay at Huntington. Dr. Griffith was called here from Dufur Thursday to attend little Gerald Wing who had his arm broken while playinpr at school in the game of "Black man". The fracture was be tween the elbow and wrist of the right arm. While here the doctor visited little Hubert Narvel. J. R. Woodcock went to Port land Thursday, He will go to Taeorna, Wash, before returning. Tygh Valley has now their basket ball teams. Two of the high school and one of the town. Miss Lena Wing is up from Zunnvalt who is confined to her bed with heart leakage. Hammie Pattison returned Friday from a weeks stay in The Dalles. Winston Lake to The Dalles Tuesday returning Thursday. He had dental work done while there. Fratk Driver went to PorUand Tuesday returning Saturday. A meeting of the school board was held Saturday. George Crawford was chosen director. A tax levy was voted on but did not carry. Mrs. Irma Munier went to Smock Saturday. We have had warm weather the past week for this season of. the year. Much rain has fallen. Joe Muller, Guy and Lester Brittain were up from Tygh Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Cjrant Ledford were down from Smock Sat.:, lay Miss Hilda Lake went -to Port land today. Cleve Fowler is here from Wyoming visiting home folks. Dr. Griffith changed the cast on Gerold Wing's arm yesterday Bill Evans accompnaied him here from Dufur. Mart New has moved into the Swift hotel. George Magill, Sam Bennett Howard Blackeby and Don Miller attended the Woods sale on Juniper Flat Friday. The many friendf? of Mrs. Claud Robert of Warlike were irrieved to learn of her death Sunday oifrht. Mrs. Roberts had undergone, an operation at The. Dalles hospital, but it was '.'lot known that she was in a critical condition until her death. Wildie Mayfield Roberts was a daughter of John Mayfield, a former reBident of Wami'c, but now living near Yakima, Wn., where the family recently went to make their home. She in survived by her hus band, father, two sinters and two brothers, one brother hav ing died a few months ago. Mrg. Roberts has spent of her life near Wamic, except a few years in the Willamette valhy. She was a woman of sterling char acter and will be Badly missed. J. R.
