ley were united in marriage at
noon Friday by Father O'Rourte
at his residence in The Dalles.
The groom has , been a resident
of v Tygh for several months,
being one of the proprietors of
the Crescent Garage. He is a
veteran of the late war, having
enlisted in Canada. The bride
is an accomplished young lady,
the eldest daughter of Mr. ai.d
Mrs. H. A. Muller.
Mr. and Mrs. Reddington re
turned to Tygh Valley taking in
the fair and will spend the next
fortnight at Portland and the
coast after which they will occu

ed Tuesday morning with a nice
display of exhibits in the stock,
agricultural and art departments
While not of immense quantity.
the' quality of everything was
excellent.
The stock cattle of W. 0.
Wilson, J. I. West, Drivers, and
Mays Bros, were fine specimens
of their types.
The fancy work department
displayed some beautiful and
aried designs of the work. Mrs.
L. C. Henneghan won the blue
ribbon on her tea cloth of tatting
which is a wonderful piece of
wark.
Wamic's large floral display
was an attractiue item.
The agricultural display, rep-

tables of many varieties spoke
well lor the productiveness of
Southern Wasco county.
Yefct-'iday's racing was best.

Phillips of The Dalles got the
pony race. The Indians came in
for their part of the balance of
the races.
Attendeuce was good. Yester
day's gae receipts amounted to
about $250.
Concessions were not lacking
and were well patronized, but

As one of the main attractions
of the paogrym, the Southern
Wasco County Faia-goers wit
nessed a trap spoot on Wednes
day and Thursday afternoons.
The contending teams were
selected from among Maupin and
Wapinitia's 'buck shot artists'.
Tee Maupinites walked off with
Wapinitia's scalp both days with
tne resulting scores of 99-65 on
Wednesday and 82-40 on Thurs
day. Bates Shattuck achieved
the honor of being high point
man.

Some fine rains have fallen
here the past ten days. Farm
ers are seeding and some of the
grain is coming up.
N. G. Hedin returned Sunday
from Portland and The Dalles.
While enroute from Portland to
The Dalles his car slid over a 70
foot embankment. He jumped
after the front wheels had gone
over and succeeded in escaping
without any injury, likewise the
car was not injured in the least.
He secured some men, a truck,
block and tackle and pot the ear
ip the hill, bringing it on into
town on its own power.
Jeanette Burnside fell from a
log Tuesday and has a badly
sprained arm.
The two Misse3 Swank who
are teaching the Oak Grove and
Pine Grove schools are stopping
with Mrs. Smith.
Lloyd Smith was presented
with a fine Silvertone grapha-
phone on his 21st birthday, the
26th.
Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Flinn
spent last week in The Dalles
while N. W. served on the jury.
Mr. and Mrs. B. L; Foreman
and Mrs. L. M. Woodside were
visitors at The Dalles Monday.
Mrs. Johnie Sinclair of Cher-
ryville, Oregon, is stopping at
the Flinn home, Mrs. Sinclair
is a sufferer from asthma and iE
here in hope3 of regaining her
health.

visitor last week.
Orval Flinn returned from
Portland Sunday.
Mrs. May Barzee and daught
er Vivian returned here last
week and reopened the hotel.
- Mrs. Joe Graham came out
from Claekamas lake a few days
ago and is again living here.
Mack Hollman came out from
the mountains the first of the
Sergeant Morris Fisher of the
U. S. Marines using the U. S.
magazine rifle won the 300
meter Free Rifle Match at the
Olympic Shoot at Antwerp
Belgium.
His score of 996 out of a pos
sible 1080 was 7 points over that
of his nearest rival, Larsen, of
Denmark.
In this event the use of any
type or pattern of rifle is per
mntible, with no restrictions as
to telescopic sights, special bar
rels and other accessories which
make for accuracy. Fisher's per
formance marks the first time
this match has ever been won
with the standard military rifle
of any country, and also the first
time the match has been won by
a member of an American team.
