Maupin School News
:
-The new tchool bonks have
arrived. This gives teachers and
pupils a better opportunity to do
their work.
Miss Kern Muyhew entered high
school 'Monday as a sophomore.
George Ay res entered Tuesday us
a senior.
Horace Mann- probably the
greatest educator of his lime,
onoo said, "Selioolhouses and
schoolmasUrs- am (oris und gari
bods to a republic." This, of
course, includes schoolmistresses,
not '"schoolnia'auis". The word
"schoolma'uni" is put down us
' "dialect or illiterate" in the dic
tionary. But to return to the
subject, school-houses and school
teachers, iu order to be ifficieut
"forts and garrisons" must have
the guns and ammunition. This
"fort" is fairly well provided, but
there is always roouj for improve
ment. - .
Since the high school is to be
Standardized, pupils must expect
to measure up to the standard.
They must not expect iromolion
without earning it, "This n-quire !
much home study.
Irregular attendance is not go
ing to get anybody anyhe re very
fast The pupil who stays out
cannot expect to keep up with the
one who attends.
If a school is worth what we
think it is to a community then
the time of the Teacher is valuably
For this reason it will be olir
policy in tuture to iliM'ouragc
agents from taking our lime away
from our classes, even if they
think us rude.
Thcue h iving little ones fur ll e
primary room should start heru
immediately, or at least In (he
end of the tirst month. This is
important to the progress of jour
child as well as for I he interest of
his class.

Farm Machinery
When the season's work is over?
On most farms some of the machinery -often the greater
part of it-is left out-of-doors the year round.
A Weather Proof Implement Shed
doubles the life of your machinery and cuts down your
repair bills.
And then too, machinery that is protected from the
elements is always ready for use wl en it is wanted.
Any way you figure it, an
