It endangers the health and happiness of the cows and chickens." And ho said, "Aw, ptep on her and be a pport." Yesterday I went into Oiborn's ice creiui parlor. I was pitting in iho blacksmith shop listening to the news. Herbert Lewis who recently left here for Burns where he has taken a homestead, informs his parents here that he lias taken unto him self a wife. Mr. Lewis recently relumed from the army and is known by everyone here. Heart iest congratulations Herbert. A nephew of O. L. Paquet came up from Portland Monday and called on the Paquet family. He was here last in 1895. Mrs. Carrie Kirkhain and sou Tommy returned to their hunt here Saturday. Mr. aud Mrs. Henry Fauton of Portland came Monday and are guests at tho Jackson Rice borne. Mr. Fanton is a brother of Mrs. Rice. Bill Foreman and Clyde Flinn made a hurried trip to Madras Saturday in Bill's little red Ford. They report the crops as voiy poor in the Agency Plains dis trict. N. W. Flinn was quite tick the last of the week but is about 0 K now. We wish to announce a rough and ready social at., Wapinitiii Saturday evening. There will be a short program and ice ciouiu and cake will he served. All ladies are especially, requested to wear their kitchen aprons and the men tneir overalls. ThiB will be given by the Christain Endoavoi Society and the proceeds will go to make up the deficiency in tbeii pledge for the church work.
