The Maupin Times Published every Friday at Maupin, Oregon Mrs. W. L. Wamic land in a car, to the John Martin home on Juniper ran over the embankment. Two of the woman's ribs were broken. Henry Miller helped get tne car back on grade. Marion Driver is in a hospital at Camp Merit, N. J. with an at tack of rheumatism. Many attended the Soldiers' ' rally Saturday night. The hall wai decorated with Gr boughs and ro&es with flags at intervals. Ad dresses were mad by Rev. Wood and Trof. Ward. Mrs. Georgia Norvel and Mrs. Alta Miller sang duets and Mrs. Neva Driver ac companied on the piano. Charley Lake and Mies Claris Zumwalt gave recitations. Freceeding the program Miss Ruby Wilson enter tained the audience with several piano selections. A long tabU was laden with good things to eat when a committee served each person with a well filled plute. A number of soldiers were here from different places and heartily greet ed by the enthusiastic crowd. The affair was a very pleasing one. Dr. and Mr8,W. A. Short came over from Dufur Friday. Mrs. Matie Patisou accompanied them home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. McCorkle came over from Juniper Sunday ana tooK Mr. ana Airs. John Ma gill to' their home. This is the second time Mrs, Magill has been away from home for many years being an invalid from rheumatism Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fargher, Mrs. Ida Ward and Frauk Huat were here Sunday from the Far. gher farm near Dufur, guests of Miss Hilda Lake who returned with them for a short visit. Mrs. A. E. Lake leturned from The Dalles Sunday, coining to Tygh with Mrs. II. Woodcock ana sons. Charley Harth passed through town today with a big truck load . of lumber from the mills for his place on lower Tygh. A few of the young people of this place attended the ball game at Maupin Sunday. Prof. J. II. Ward made a busi ness trip to Bend and vicinity Thursday returning Saturday.
