church, and school opened Mon
day, but the school hoard held a
meeting Monday afternoon and
shut the school down for another
week, as there were still a few
cases of flu in the community, but
all are greatly improved. ,
Leonard Weberg made a trip to
Dufur Sunday, taking his sister
Alice back to her school there.
Mose Delore writes to home
folks here from France saying' he
was well and getting along tine,
and that he Was making quite a
hit with the girls there as he can
speak the fr'rench language.

of this place and Mrs. Flora
Unlock from Idaho were married
in The Dalles Tuesday and arriv
ed here that evening. They will
make their home on the Tapp
farm, which Mr. Maynard lias
rented.

in Missouii, March 12, 18IV2 and
died ut the family home in Maupin
at, 7 o'clock last evening nf.er a
long illness. The family were all
present at his bedside except one
daughter in Washington.
Mrs. Paerick and six children
survive. Mis. Margaret Hughes of
Portland, Lester Patrick, Mis.

Karl Patrick at home. The fami
ly moved to Washington about
fourteen jeara ago and from there
