Blaine Disbrow made a trip to
fche snow-line of Mt. Hood last
week to take his brother Edward

for several miles he found a couple
pair of boots toasting in front of a
camp fire. Investigation brought
to view the faces of John Conroy
and Edward Disbrow from behind
books within their tent. And the
sheep were grazing on the hillside
below.
Mrs. Sarah Darnall and two
daughters of Dufur are here for a
few days' yisit with relatives.

War Board's order reduces cir
culation; requires weekly papers to
cut circulations 15 per cent Sept.
15; rates raised and all dead heads
and delinquents cut off.
In view of the above we will be
obliged to strike from our list a
number of najnes, so if you are in
arrears and want the Times after
Sept. 15, call or drop us a line.
However, we believe that if the
majority of lists were paid up as
well as ours, there would be no
occasion for such a ruling. Less
than 16 per cent of our subscribers
ami exchanges are not arranged
for in advance, and wo will not
conceed to call any of these 'dead
heads.'

from Camp Mills, New York, Say
ing that they were gettiug ready
to sail for France and that they
would not hear from him any
more until he arrived 'over there'.
Mrs. Winnie Wilson received a
letter last week from her husband

and England and was well and
getting along fine.
Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Tapp were
called to Hood River last week by
the death of Heigh Linsley, a dis
tant relative who met with an auto
accident aud received injuries from
which he died.
Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Wood vis
ited in Watnic last week and rent
ed a house and will move there
soon. After harvest is over he
will take up the cnurch wotk
there for the coming winter,
