Granaries and Elevators Must be Planned and
Ordered Now To be Ready for the 1918 Crop
1. Less than one sixth required number of elevators for 1918 can be completed on time
if started immediately.
2. Over six months required for necessary machinery' was our experience last year and
all authorities ajrree that.it will be harder to get machinery next year on time.
3. All present government embargoes on gravel ;
anl umber make shipments Eenously delayed.
4. Leading cement plants of the northwest are
facing shut-downs on account of government embargoes
or fuel required to run them.
5. Good labor u scarce and getting worse.
