Ayres was a business vis itor at The Dalles the last of the we.ek. AGED PIONEER FOUND DEAD Monday afternoon on going to the home of John Cotter on the bluff above the power plant, H. L. Morris found him sitting in a chair dead. Mr. Morris notified other neighbors and Dr. Elwood was called from here. Mr. Cotter had probably died either Saturday or Sunday morning. The evidence was so conclusive that death canie naturally that it was not thought necessary to hold an inquest. The remains were burjed Tues: day in the cemetery near Tygh. Mr. Cotter was a .German 'a n,d a pioneer of this eectjon liyjng alone on his ranch above White river. He was about 72 years old. , Spring weather is the remark by everyone.
