As she had her kitchen dpor open, three Jbirds flew in, two nnail and one hawk. The hawk had one of the birds in its grasp and the other took its flight through the dining room, sitting room and took refuge m the bed room. C. and A, C- Moad called to welcome home Mrs. Francis and the doctor met the boys and invited them in to see his bride, the boys not acepting, he then took them to the popular resort of E. J. George Harvey was born near Dayton, Ohio, August 16th 1840, from whence at an early age tie moved with his parents to Wis consin and later to Iowa. In 1862 he enlisted in Company C of the 20th Iowa Volunteers and served Btfti I the close Of the war. " " April .ll'th; 1870 Mr. Harvey . was united in marriage to Miss Caroline McQuilian in Jaspef County,Iowa, and moved to Ida Coutity- In 1900 thev moved to This Dalles, Oregon, and have been living iwith their only son Harry Harvey on a farm near Bakeoven for several years. Mr. Harvey had feeen for many vears a member of the M. E. qhuroh and was at the time of his death. ;November-25th, 1915. Funeral services were con ducted by Rev. Ellisof this place Sunday and interment made in the Rural Dale cemetery. The widow and, only son sur vive him. The Hi Jinks dancinK club gave their hr-t dance last lhursday evening. There was a good at tendance and every one repotted a fine time.
