JW. and not the 0, T. depot as assert ed, However he was plensed to learn that the 8 i-i pound agent at the 0. T. depot was doing well. Dr. Hatfieid addressed the school Children here last week on the care bf the teeth; which was greatly appreciated by both the children and their parents. He gave a practical demonstration in each room, showing the proper way to brush the teeth, the kind of a brush to use arid presented each pupil with a neat little booklet on the Core and Preservation of the Teeth. Mr N. C. Jetiten of Portland is shigping up one of his drilling faiachines and expects to start drill. Ing on the D. W. Tallcott ranch within the next few days. Mr. N. C. Jensen has been superintendent bf well drilling for the S. P, & S. Ry. Co. for the past year and is harrying on quite an extensive well contracting business, having five drilling machines running in vari ous parts of the country at the present time. McClellan was born in Florida on February 26, 1902, and died in The Dalles, Oregon on November 5, 1915. While a baby, her parents moved on their homestead at Ridgeway, where they have made their nome ever since. She was ap parently 'in 'good health until a few days before her death. She fell ill Sunday arid was taken to Shaniko Monday evening where it was found she was suffering from typhoid, and was removed to the hospital in Th3 Duller, where she died on the following Friday and was buried in The Dalles Saturday Besides her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McClellan. two sisters Burvive, Miss Nina McClellan of thi: place and Mrs. Cornelia Kentner of Kent, ' Another Successful Well F. M. Confer has just finished the installation of a deep well outfit on his home place. The drilling was done by Henry Hol land and a sufficient quantity of water was found at a depth of about 440 feet. A 12 foot Star mill and 30 foot Star tower was furnished by Shattuck Bros., this being the 14! h Star mill glaced by this firm during the year. Local Happening The Times, $1.50 a year. Geo. Foreman and son Bill went to Maupin last Tuesday to meet Mr, Foreman who had been to Portland. G. E. Wcod and Harry Pratt made a trip to Tygh Valley Sat urday.
