Meanwhile, Eugene folk are de
claring a particularly pleasant
summer. Perfect weather for out
door sports and trips has contri
buted to it; so have innumerable
delightful visitors; so has the gen
eral Informality of the entertaining
which has enlivened each week.
Rather than being a hectic rush
It has oeen a leisurely proceseivu
of meetings with friends here and
there, and the coming fortnight
' -will finish off the season with a
feeling of satlstied repletion.

to the marriage of Miss Esther
Setters of Portland and George
Hinkle of Eugene, which was
quietly solemnized Sunday evening
August 12 In Portland.
A small group of intimate
friends and members of the two
families was bidden for the cere
mony, which was read at the home
of the bride's brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dodson
by Rev. Oswald W. Taylor. For
the service, masses of midsummer
garden blooms in pastel coli.d had
been arranged about the rooms.
Tho bride was attractivo in a
simply-fashioned French frock' of
white chiffon, her costume com
pleted by a long tulle veil and a
shower bouquet of rosebud., ..nd
lilies ot the valley. Mrs. Dodson
was her sister's matron of honor,
while Allen Smith ot Seattle was
best man for tbe bridegroom.
Following the service, a wedding
dinner was given for the bridal
party at the Multnomah hotel.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hinkle have
recently graduated from the Uni
versity of Orejn. and the bride
Is a member ot Gamma Phi Beta
while the gro.- i Is a Phi Delta
Theta member. He Is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. John I. Hinkle of.
Oakland. Calif., and is at present
on the staff of tbe First National
bank of Eugene.
Mrs. Hink:. k the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Setters, former
ly of A orla. After a honeymoon'
trip of a fortnight. Mr. and Mrs.
Hinkle will reside In Eugene.
