placing 127 . men in regular Jobs
whom earnlnKH have amounted to
J 12, Hit 8 which the number of odd
John run approximately from
$2r(jQ to $30UU making the total
or 11,1,80k for the terms work. This
Is a very marked Increase over tho
results obtained hy the employ
ment hureuu iast year by a total
of $1,3!7.
Tho forefprn students of which
31 are employed in homes and res
taurants us janitors and cooks, will
have made $4,110 by the end of
tho fal) term. In addition, there
have been many cooks placed in
the various houses on their campus
but no record of them has been
kept.
Service Is Better
"We've been busier, ye've had
more work, and we've been able to
Klvf) better service this year." said
Mrs. Donnelly, in summing up tho
work of the bureau. "We wish to
thank the people of Eugene, tho
faculty and the fraternity houses
for the work they have sent us.
Between two and three hundred
students are enabled to stay In
school through thin work."
"I think it should be emphasized
that the boy who got work
through our. bureau do not take
this work from local men who are
supporting families. The students
work only a few hours at a time
which would be Impossible for a
nyin needing full time employ
ment." ...
TJsfc of Rooms Compiled
. Mrs. Maude B.Green of Eugene
has been acting as part Kme as
sistant to Mrs. Donnelly. Tho
bureau is now getting out Its list
of rooms for ' next term so that
students desiring new locations
will bo able to get them at the "X''
office. The problem of housing
hundreds of students every year
Is another b!g work handled by
Mrs. Donnelly.
