air of simple, quiet elegance. There Is an appear
ance of comfort to this home that Is fully carried
out by the admirable arrangement of rooms and
consideration for all tho little conveniences of mod

It Is a square house of simple, dignified, economi
cal design. The roof lines aro vell adapted to tile
or slate, but could bo nttractlvcly covered with any
other type of shingles.
Slightly projecting Iron balconies, in tho manner
of French city houses, urc placed at the two second
story windows. French doors lend from the Jiving
room to tho teirace.
The porch In Included in the house, opening as It
docs from both living and dining room. It Is almost
a part of thoso rooms. It could easily be glazed and
used as1 a sunroom. '
The first floor contains three rocms and In addi
tion there Is an inclosed, porch, a dining alcove,
kitchen, entry, and stair hall.
The arrangement of the rooms is ono that la e
pecially suitable for a sotting In which the principal
views nnd lighting aro to tho front. However, tho
development of tho porch and dining room Is such
that a charming effect would bo obtained If they
opened off a garden at the rear.
A handsome fireplace is a feature of the living
room.' Tho arrangement of the 'living room and hall
is such that one may pass directly from the front
door to the kitchen without going through the front
part of the house. A grade entrance is also provided
for entrance to the kitchen or basement. A codt
closet on the first landing of the stairway Is con
veniently situated.' The icebox Is In the rear entry.
On tho second floor there are three excellent bed
rooms and a bath. . ;
Thero is a full basement under tho entire house.
