reports that the demand for Essex
coaches is far ahead of the supply

. Street Car Coach Viewed
Lively interest was created on
the streets Wednesday over the ap
pearance of a Graham Brothers'
street car coach, a vehicle of
twenty-oue-possenger type, which
had arrived from the fac
tory at Stockton, California. This
same type of car is used for
transport by the city of Dotrolt,
something like 148 of the vehicles
being In commission there. Tout
of the car hero was under direc
tion of F. M. Hathaway, of the
Dodgo agency and who is also dis
tributor of tho Graham truck.
F. M. Hathaway, Is making
preparations to attend the Nation
al convention of Dodge auto
mobllo dealers, which occurs on
January 6, nt the factory In De
troit. Mr, Hathaway estimates
that moro than 3000 dealers will
gather in the Mlcjilgan metropolis
for this meeting. The policy of
t ho Dodgo company as - regards
sales and service plans for the,
coming year is expected to be re
vealed at this conference. Mr.
Hathaway expects to leave Eu
gone on January 2.
The C. LDunn Motor company,
distributor of Nash and Ajax
automobiles, is making un enviable

gasdllne taxes during 1926, as com
pared with $70,724,490 collected In
1924. The average gasoline tax In
forty-four states, this year Is 2.44
cents a gallon; In 1924 the average
was 1.81 cents. Only four states
out. of forty-four are levying a-tax
