the struggle holding the farmers
far outside scoring distance.
The Trojan scores, made in the
second, third and fourth periods,
resulted from Southern California's
ability to smash tho stalwart Ore
gon lino flat when necessary, as
well as from tho visitors failure to
solve Troy's passing attack.
Schulmcrlch Closely Watched
Wos Schulmeiich, the dynamo of
the Aggie's backfield, showed only
rare flashes on the offensive. He
was too closely watched. Snider
punted beautifully for O. A. C
and the ends got down under his
kicks with amazing speed, almost
nullifying the Trojan gains in the
running back of kicks. Halfback
Denman was the outstanding
ground gainer for tho men from the
north.
For Southern California, Morley
Drury, Manuel Laraneta and Mor
ton Kaer were the shining lights.
Aggfos Make ialns
The Aggies made four first downs
for a total of US yards, while the
Trojans made 13 first downs and
gained 306 yards from scrimmage.
(Oregon completed two out of 13
passes, while Southern California
completed seven oit of fifteen. The
first period opened with both teams
fighting bitterly. Neither the Ag
gies nor the Trojans were able to
gain consistently and there was
considerable ragged play. The Tro
tfnns scored early in the second per
iod after Kaer had been sent In at
quarterback in place of Bill Cook,
who was injured badly when hit
by Dickerson. ' .

FOR COMPETITION'S ,
That a swimming team of boys
would probably be organized by
the Eugene Y. M. C- A., was the
statement made yesterday by K.
E. Holdeman, physical director.
The team may consist of from
10 to 18 members and swimming
competitions against similar teams
of Salem and Portland may be ex
pected. The date of organization of such
a team here has not been set,
said Mr. Holdeman, and the form
