The funeral of the late Harley V
Thompson waa held from the Clov-
erdale Methodist church TuesJay
morning at ten thiry. Rev: R.
Parker, pastor of the church, con
ducted the services assisted by
Rev. J. L. Stratford.
The church waa filled with
friends and relatives and an ava
lanche of beautiful flowers in bou
quets and pieces attested the high
esteem held for the deceasd and
his family. The Cloverdole church
choir sang three hymns. "Jesus
Lover of My Soul." "Jesus Savior
Pilot Me," and another comfort
ing one. Rev. Stratford gave the
prayer. The text and theme oi

a good fight, I have kept the faith:

Mr. Parker gave a short history
of the life of Mr. Thompson stat
ing that he was born in Clearfield.
Pennsylvania, July 27. 1854. and
went to Iowa with his parents
where they lived until 190! when
he came to Oregon and Cloverdnle
where he lived ever since. on
January 1. 1883, he married Ida
R. Doty. Mrs. Doty died January
29. 1893. They had three child
ren. Harry R. Thompson, of Eu
gene: Isaac Earl Thompson, now-
deceased, and lira. Maude Garrett.
of Cloverdale. A brother also
survives him, R. W. Thompson, of J
Chadbourne, North Carolina.
In developing1 his theme the
pastor said when a man came to
such a time as this and there was
nothing that could be said of him
that need be withheld, such a man
was a happy man. Such a man
was Mr. Thompson. He came af
