The matter of having an exhibit nt
the Salem suite fair came In for con
siderable discussion, but the members
ot me board appeared to be unani
mous In their belief that the helpful
advertising which would be derived
from such un exhibit should not be
pasKed up. After valnlng trying to
arrive at some conclusion In the mat
ter in-which tho haiin county exhibit
should bo financed. It was' voted to
have the fair board assume the re
sponsibility of the slate exhibits. Ku
geno Chadwlck, secretary of the
chamber of commerce, announced
that the chamber had set aido $250
to assist In placing anexhlhlt of Kane
county products before the people oi
the state. A. R. Oray, chairman of
tho Lane county fair publicity com
mittee, stated hfs belief that the mer
chants of Eugene would assist In
muking up any deficit in tho budget.
Mr. Taylor paid hf own expenses
when preparing the Lone county ex
hibit at Salem last year and members
of the fair board expressed a desire,
to reimburse him for all expenses In
curred this year. It was also decided
to enter in tho state fair nn exhibit,

Season tickets and dny tickets were
considered at tho meeting last night.
Some of the members a r aged that It
was unfair to sell season tickets to
people, living In towns not close to Eu
gene. Likewise, complimentary tick
ets came under fire. It was finally
depided to have a committee work out
tho ticket question. .
Pioneers Arc Invited '
Tho pioneers of Lane county last
night wero invited to hold their an
nual reunion on tho fair grounds on
Sept. 20, tho second day of the fair.
F. M. Wllklns made the request to
permit the Lane county pioneers to
hold their reunion during the fair,
but Instead of granting tho request
the members of the fair board ex
tended an Invitation to tho county vet
erans. All places of business In tho city
will bo asked to close on the opening
day of the fair, Sept. 10, at noon. No
