two bandits who staged a bold day-
tight robbery here yesterday, kid
napped a taxi cab driver, drove his
ear towards Portland, and threw "him
out at Chehails after robbing him.
The abandoned taxlcab was found
this morning at Caatle Rock police
here were notified, and an attempt Is
being made to capture tho bandits at
Kalama or Kelso, where they are ex
pected to take tha ferry across the
Columbia river.
The two robbers began their round
of crime yesterday morning shortly
before noon, when they ordered a
taxlcab driver, J. Martin, to drive
them about the city. Placing a re
volver at Martin's head, on of th
men detained Martin while the ether

persons and took $80. The robber
