annual harvesters' picnic will be held
at the Siuslaw fish hatchery on Lake
crock, Saturday, August ltf, beginning
at 10 a. m. with a boys calf judging.

grounds, also the poultry and sowing
clubs will hitve exhibits at this time

Willamette valley Thursday to parti
cipate in several stock judging classes
conducted by Ira P. Whitney, county
agent, and J. G. Swan, county club
leader. Professor Lindgren, livestock
specialist from O. A. C, and Mr. Law-
son of the Shorthorn Breeders' asso
ciation were on the tour and gave the
boys nnd girls much valuable help in
judging. Contests were held on Chest
er White hogs at J. W. Maxwell's, on
Shropshire sheep at McCormack's and
on sheep. Duroc Jersey hogs and
Shorthorn cattle at uat Young s. The
members, of the local club made some
very fine scores, the club. average be
ing 77 ?-3 . .
