The endurance monoplane San

Francisco bay today, and its pilot,
Donald Temnleman. former army avi
ator, who had sought to set a record
for refueling endurance flying, was
recovering from the effects of the
plunge which ended bis undertaking
last night.
Apparently fatigued. Tern pieman
misjudged his distance from the
ground as he was circling Mills field
in the CiHt h hour of his flight. The
craft stp.ick an electric transmission
line and fell into the bay, a few feet
from shore. Templeraan swam out,
unhurt. He was taken to a hospital
for examination to make sure he had
suffered no ill effects.
