Forty-Four Yeaas in Eugene
The Midgley Planing , mill has been in continuous
operation for forty-four years (since 1881). "We feel that
this is a record that Eugene can be proud of, in that it
reflects the steady and permanent growth which our city
has maintained. The Midgley company has endeavored
to likewise grow starling with a small plant and only
a handful of men, they now have a large, modern, electri
fied mill employing about 50 men. The present officers
