Mrs. J. S. Mugiadry. Mrs. E. Hilti

gene Kester presiding for the meet
ing which WHi the last of the spring,
regular imnthly meetings to be con
tinued the first of September.
Wednesday's meeting was specially
honoring Mrs, Marion Watch, a mem
ber of the club who recently returned
alter a year's stay In the near east.
A basket of roses was presented to
the guest of U.mr hy Mrs. I. K,
Mr. m, and Mrs. Veatch spoke of her
trip.
The rlnb members spent the after
noon sewing on gowns and garments
for the cuppled children's hospital
maintained by the Shrhiers in port
hind. Phil Metehan, member of the
board of governors of tin? hospital,
was present for the afternoon ami
spoke of the splendid work being
done by the Daughters of the Nile
for the hopital. and invited all mem
bers of the Eugene club t visit th
hospital nt any time.
While the regular monthly meetings
of the club have been discontinued,
threo picnics were planned to be held
during the summer months. Mrs,
Kay (.lass Mill be hostess for the f
first one to be given in Juliy, and
committee members arranging for the
event will be Mrs. Class, Mrs, Fred
Walters, and Mrs. W. W. Mranstet-
ter. Tho second Is to bo given in s
August at which time the Cottage

After the afternoon's work In the
palm room of the hotel the party
went to the oriental room for the
tea hour.
On Monday evening Mrs. Esther
McClintie. Mrs. C. W. Starr, and Miss .
Vera Fisher were hostesses for a
nyutt enjoyable affair, having nu
guests the members of the Mebekah
Degree stnff. A hampiet was served j
at six o'clock, and afterwards the
party spent the evening hours playing
guinea.
Tuesday afternoon Mrs. E. C. Sher
man invited the members of the staff
to her country home for a picnic.
