Wo have received not less than two serious complaints and have received
copies of your newspaper ad wherein you were advertising our brooms at a
very much lower price than they should be sold for.
In shipping you brooms as wo did, we felt confident that you would ad
here to a legitimate profit on the retail selling price. In your caso of course,
wo nllowod you tho 0;, trade discount, and you probably felt that under tho
circumstances you could sell these brooms at a lower price. We wish to ad
viso however, that we are selling n good many accounts in your city, and theso
other accounts are not buying in quantities to warrant our allowing them tho
trade discount, and for this reason you can sec tho injustice to the other mer
chants who are not getting this discount, and arc compelled to sell our brooms
at n slightly higher price.
You still havo a balance with us on order of March 28th, to go -forward
and under the circumstances wo aro going to ask that we be allowed to pi nee
your own private labels on theso. brooms, and call them different names, which
will then enable you to sell them at whatever price you wish, inasmuch as if
brooms go forward under our regular labels, wo must insist that you get the
regular selling price.
Please advise us whether or not it would be satisfactory to place your
own private labels on tho balance of this order, and greatly oblige,
