Nansen in Norway from a gaunt un
shaven giant who appeared in Kagle
City, it was revealed here today.
Amundsen disappeared in Arctic

eight men he pushed through the un
explored legendary route to the Indies

to file a long message to "somebody
in Norway called Nansen."
Itrainerd immediately became in
terested and inquired the name of
the sender.
"Ifwas something like Amundsen,"
the signal officer replied. Brainerd
made arrangements to pay the tele
graph tolls himself in exchange for
the privilege of publishing the tele
gramand the next day Seattle an
nounced Amundsen's discovery to the
world.
