LISBON. May 20.OP) The pop

under the terrorizing influence of

malefactors notorious for Iminb out

Several groups of these bandits have,
during the last few weeks, carried

A few days ago, in a busy thor

charged pistols in the most approved
movio style, effectively covering the
retreat of the attacking party to
side car, in which they made tiioir

As these repeated occurrences are
being carried out without the Inuned-1
inte intervention of the police, and
without arrests being made, the news
papers have censured the negligence
of the police. Now, however, the
authorities have arrested the prinrU
pal persons implicated in the assault
on the collector and several other
membern of the Hed legion. At the
same time nil the newspaper print a
statement from the commissioner gen

against the injustice of the refger
