Anti-prohibition measures won In the
Wisconsin assembly today. The Meg
gers resolution, which memorializes
congress to propose repeal of the
eighteenth amendment, waa adopted
AH to .'18, and the senatp resolution for
a state referendum on per cent
beer was concurred in. M to 34.
The Meggers resolution would mem
orialise congress to call a convention
to propose an amendment repeating
the prohibition amendment to the fed
eral constitution. It goes to the sen
ate. The other resolutions provides
for a referendum of Wisconsin voters
on tho question whether congress
shall be memorialized to modify the
Volstead act to permit the sale of
beer.
The voters will pssa on the beer
proposition In November, lllJfl, as a
result of the assembly's concurrence.
