road officials here. The tourist sea
son is soon to open, says lc. Bur
nett, and his line is making extensive
preparations to care for a record

H. C. Howe Recovering
Professor H. C. Howe of the uni
versity English department, who i
recovering from a serious operation
at the Eugene hospital, will not he
able to do any active teaching for
the rest of this term, his physician
says. However, he hopes to be around
the campus a little later on and will
be able to do a little of the admin
istrative work of his department.
Pioneers to Feed Tonight
A biscuit feed and genernl get -together
