Walter D. Smith
Walter D. Smith, well known in
labor, circles of Eugene, who has been
for the last six years an employe di
rector of the 4L organization, : has
become chief sules manager for the
Knights of Electra, a group of Port
land business men sponsoring the Pacific-American
International exposi
tion for 1030, it is announced.
Mr. Smith has been an nctive or
ganizer with the 4L since it waa put
on a pence, time footing early in
1019, and is diwely known among
loggers nnd mill workers of Lane
county. The loggers nnd mill men in
his district have regularly re-elected
him to represent them on the 4L di
recting board each year and he still
holds that office. He expects soon
to start a speaking tour of the northwest.
