Agreement Reached.
Benton county succeeded in getting
its long hoped for agreement with the
state commission regarding the im-
l provement of Corvollis-.Vewport high
way from Corvallis to Wren station,
flume S.3 miles.
The commission agreed to do the
grading and the county will surface

Roy Klein estimates the state's mst
to be $00,000, the county's $0,i.
The new line will eliminate two grade
crossing and build nn overhead nt
- Wren station. The deal calls for the
I buying of right-of-way, gruding, sur-
road.
Benton rotiuly would put on a bond
issue election, calling perhaps for
i JpOO.OOO this year. It was suggested by
i Malone that the Benton county court
also consider building a new bridge
'over the Willamette river at Corval
, lis, the present structure being too
i old and narrow for the traffic.

i sinner Von Lehe appeared before the
state hotly. They declared that work
