M'KEHZIE RESORT
TO OPEN SUNDAY

The grand opening of the resort ia set
for &m time the early part qf May,
she says.
Springfield and L'nsrade baseball
teams will cross hats for tbe opening
of the new bnseliall diamond at tbe
resort. New tennis courts are also
being installed with a gravel surface.
The resort now consists: of 14 cabins
and apartments, hotel, cafe and store,
dance halt, swimming pool and baths.
It operates its own electric and water
system, t using electric lights for its
tampiug grounds. An orchestra from
Kugene plays at the dance halt every
Saturday night.
Tho drive from Eugene to the re
sort takes approximately 3 hours, it
is reported. The road is in good con
dition, according to Mrs. Kune, and
offers spleudid scenery all the way.
The resort is now three years old, ami
represents aa investment of $o0,000

Albert Micsendanger, ranger at
tho Mt. Hood national forest, will be
in Eugene during National Forest
week, April 27, to May 3, to deliver
an illustrated lecture on fire preven
tion and forest pvvtectton, it was an
nounced today in the local office of
the Cascade national forest.
Mr. Micsendanger has been sent
on a speaking tour of national forests
in this district for the last two or
three years, and ho is reported tt be
an unusually interesting speaker. He
has previously used moving picture
films in connection with bis lectures,
