liance sponsored one of the affairs

buiidiug, this aftornoon, and Alpha
Delta l'i sorority conducted an Eas
ter snle and bazaar, also in the Lar
away building.
Miss Elma Hendricks was hostess
to Home Science club members at
her home Monday. A demonstration
in cookery was given at the meeting.

One of the distinctive club affairs
of each year is the ueioale and '

Monday Book club entertain. The
itt'fuir this yeur is to be Riven April
13 at the home of Mm. V. W. Cal
kins. The club members have this
year been studying Oregon writers,
Oregon musicians, and Oregon art
ists. And the musicale is to be a part
of the study of music.
Mrs. Anne Laudsbury Beck whose
work with the university and with
musical activities of the city is ever
of interest to Eugeneans will give
a lecture on "Oregon Composers."
Mrs. Heck will tell of the work of the
Oregon musicians, and illustrate her
talk with songs and instrumental
pieces composed by Oregon artists.
"The Hour Hand," a folk operetta
composed by Mrs. Beck will also be
discussed, and Richard Adams of the
university will sing selections from
it as illustrations, accompanied by
Miss Myrtle Jnnsson, who will also
piny a number of instrumental solos.
Each -member of the club is asking
guests for the afternoon. The com
mittee arranging the musicale is
Mrs. A. E.. Roberts, Mra. Edwin L.
Knapp and Mrs. V. W. Calkins.
A pretty church wedding was that
of Miss Wildred Kyburz and William
B. D. Wrenn who were married last
Sunday afternoon at the Central
Presbyterian church. The ceremony
wns performed at two o'clock by Rev.
E. Ij. Winterberger of the'Fairmount
Presbyteilan church, and was wit
nessed by a few relatives and friends.
The bride was attractively gowned
in white crepe Batin that was given
a frosted effect by crystal bead em
broidery. The tulle veil was held by
a bandeau of orange blossoms. She
carried a bouquet of white sweet peas,
carnations, and fern.
Miss Mildred Pike was bridesmaid,
nnd wore a lovely dress of orchid
crepe de chine. Her bouquet was of
pastel shaded sweet peas, tittle
Miaa Charlotte Strieker, flower girl,
wore a dainty peach colored frock,
and carried a basket of spring flow
ers. Miss Crace Ash played Lohen
grin's wedding march. The bride
groom was attended by Theo Zehrung.
Immediately after the ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Wrenn left for a abort
trip. They will make their home In
Eugene. Mrs. Wrenn is the daugh
ter of Rev. and Mrs. Alfred A. Ky
burz, and la at present attending the
University of Oregon where shd is
majoring in the normal arts depart

The Public
The informal open house of the
university school of music for the
new auditorium will be an event of
tomorrow afternoon. For this occa
sion all patrons ad friendB of .the
school are invited to visit the new
structure, and three half-hour musi
cales are being arranged for the af
ternoon. " .
Members of the faculty of the
school of music are to give several
selections for the musical program,
and they will be Mme. Rose McGrew,
soprano, Mra. Jane Thacher, pianist,
John Siefert, tenor, Rex Underwood,
violinist, Aurora Potter Underwood,
pianist, Lor a Teshner, 'celloist.
Mrs. George T. Gerlinger, member
of the university board of regents,
visiting in Eugene this week from
Portland, will give a dedicatpry ad
dress for the afternoon.
A number of Portland people are
to be present, and it is expected that
some will take prfrt in the program.
The musical programs -are to be
given from twp-thirty o'clock to three
o'clock; from three-thirty o'clock to
four o'clock; and from; four-thirty
o'clock to five o'clock.
This evening John Stark Evans is
giving an organ concert in the new
auditorium. (

calendar as announced this week has
a list of events that fairly crowd the
space between lines and even to the
margins in effort to get the desired
dutus I'Ud time for the numerous

While many affaira listed are strict
ly of campus interest, there are sev
eral large events which are of wide
interest each year to towns, folk us
vo.'l as university students.
Dances, both formal and informal,
costume and jitney frolics, concerts,
f.ar&, and a host of picnics besides
the gala event of Junior wek-oud.

The women of the university are
now exceedingly busy working for the
April frolic which is announced for
April 11. The ovent is attended each
year by scores of towns women who
get as much pleasure out of the
stunts and entertainment as the uni
versity girls who stage the frolic.
On April 15, 10, and IT, the wo
men's league 'convention will be held
on the campus, and the men's and
women's glee cluba- will give a con
cert. "Crimson Eyebrows." an oper
etta by the University high Bciiool is
to be given April 17 and IS. On the
latter date a large number of dances
are also to be given. The orchestra
concert comes April 21, and the fol
lowing three nighta will be given over
to a presentation of the dramatics de
partment. On April 24 the four class
es will each hold a party. On the
week-ends of April 25 and May 2 sev
eral of the campus houses are holding
their danceB, and on Saturday, May ,
comes the Junior vaudeville.
Jnuior week-end, the outstanding
function of the spring term, will come
on May 22 and 23 this year. The
following two week-ends are cloaed
to all social events, though a num
ber of athletic meets are planned for
these dates which just precede the
spring examinations.

variety of activities that have kept
most every one interested and busy
when not occupied with the problems
of spring house-cleaning nnd the en
grossing work of spring sewing and
spring wardrobe selecting.
Entertaining for the next week will
center around tho four largo parties
for which Mrs. fluy P.vle, Mrs.
Wayne Green, and Mrs. Vern Hco

days concludes with the coining

Wheeler. Mrs. Wheeler has a collec
tion of oriental art pieces, and is to
give a lecture about them. The af
