Arnold (Jollier, county club leader,

Visit From Washington
Mr. and Mrs. Charles It. Brown of
Bremerton, Wash,, arrived in Eugene
yesterday to visit. Mrs. Brown was
formerly Miss Lulu Carr, stenogra
pher in the chamber of commerce of
fice. During the war she served as ft
ycomnnette in the navy, and she and
her husband are still in the employ of
the government.
Alfalfa Seed Coming
Expectations are that the carload
of Grimm alfalfa ordered from Mon
tana as an experiment in planting in
Lane county will be here tomorrow,
according to announcement today at
the office of O. S. Fletcher, county
agent. Several farmers iu different
districts of the county will plant the
alfalfa.
Play Sites Offered
Word has been received at the Eu
gene chamber of commerce that the
Harmon foundation will provide $10,
000 during the present year to aid in
the purchase of grouud for recreation
centers. The contribution is limited
to $200 in any one city, it is announced.
Marriage License Granted
Kdward F. Butler and Mrs. Kalh-
eriue Durmisdy, both of Eugene, wers
granted a marriage license iu the
county clerk's office yesterday.
