Tax Penalty Given
Penalties for failure to file in
come tax returns become effective at
midnight, Monday, March 16, it was
announced this moruing from the of
fice of James Furnish, deputy, in the
city hall. Following are the penalties:
"For willful failure to make and file
a return on time not more than
$10,000 or imprisonment for no more
than one year, or both, and, in addi
tion, 25 per cent of the amount of the
tax. For willfully making a false or
$10,000 or imprisonment for not more
than five years, or both, and, in addi
tion, 50 per cent of the amount of the
tax. Fur deficiency in tax. interest on
deficiency at 6 per cent per year to
the date the deficiency is assessed,

his home in Mellincham, Wash. Four
sons, P. A. Peterson of KiiRene, Alfred

Minn., and Dr. K. C. Peterson of
Salina. Kansas, and one dauthter.
