Kherinan won over Bob Gibson in a
four-round preliminary match in the
135-pound class, and "Babe" Wilson
won from II. Hazen in the four-round
bout, Hazen throwing the sponge in'

fought four rounds to a draw, as did
John Tomscth and "Chick" McPher

curtain raiser.
About 300 spectators witnessed the
bouts, the hall being jammed to the
doors and about 100 turned away.
Most of the boxers were pupils of
Wilbur J. Lepley. local contractor
and builder, who has been training
a number of Hnrinsfield lealonaires
and high school students in the sport.
Music and dancing were furnished
between bouts on a program arrang
ed by Major M. H. Huntley. Walter
Gosslcr, locsl baritone, and member
fo the Springfield post, sang two
numbers, and C. W. Gordon, of the
Eugene post gave a lyric tenor solo.
Glenn Moss and Lincoln Rowling of
Kugene gave female impersonations,
the former as a hula hula girl and
oriental dancer and the latter as a
Spanish dancer. . Frank Blade, Paul
Maxwell and Webster Itublc, as tho
Hawaiian Strollers, were on the pro
gram, and music was furnished furth-,
er by Glen Turner, pianist, and a'
five-piece orchestra from Eugene.
