five occasions.
Moreover, he accomplished the feat

Two other American Bprinter.

the centry in the same time. But they
could turn the trick on but one oc

the laurels, therefore, must be hand

Drink Water To

Kidney Poison
When your kidneys hurt nnd your
back feels sore don't get senred and
proceed to load your stomach with a
lot of drugs that excite the kidneys
and irritate the entire urinary tract.
Keep your kidneys clean like you
keep your bowels clean, by flushing
them with a mild, harmless snlts
which helps to remove the body's uri
nous waste and stimulates tbem tn
their normal activity. The function of
the kidneys is to filter the blood. In
24 hours they strain from it 5'H)
grains of acid and waste, so we can
readily understand the vital Import
ance of keeping the kidneys active.
Drink lots of good water yon
can't drink too much; also get from
any pharmacist about four ounces of
Jad Baits; tnko a tahleppoonful in a
glass of water before breakfast each
morning for a few days and your
kidneys may then act fine. This fam
ous salts is made from the acid of
grapes and lemon juire, combined
with lithia. and has been n-ed for
years to help clean and stimulate
dogged kidneys; alco to neutralise
the acids in the system so they are
no longer a tource of irritation, thus
often relieving bladfier weakness.
Jad hialts is inexpensive; ran not
injure: makes a rMirhtful effervea
cent lithia-water drink, which every-
! nne should take Dow and then to help
keep tbir kidneys clesn and active.
i Try this: also keen up Ihe water
drinking, and no doubt you will won
der what became of your kidney
trouble and ba-kafhe. By all means
have your phvsinao examine your
kidneya at Ieat twice a year.

IAUH1NG tho first three months of
the year, Florida, which haa come
to the front with leapt and bounds
lately, is just about the sport capital
of the world.
Most of the leading golfers are at
present connected with various Flor
ida golf clubs. They are also playing
in a professional league after the
manuer of the big league ball clubs.
In addition a number of big tour
naineuts have been scheduled that will
bring together the cream of the pro
fessional golf talent of the country.
Within a month 10 big league ball
clubs will be scattered over the state,
doing the preliminary training for the
long grind.
Last season the two pennant win
ners trained in Florida, the New
York Giants at Sarasota, and Wash
ington at Tampa. Ball players and !
owners are superstitious, which in a
measure may account for the popular
ity of Florida.
It loo'ks as if Tummy Gibbons was
finally to gut 'a break."
Two years ago Gibbons had worked
his way to a match with Jack Demp
sey, everything had been agreed upon
except the signing of the contract.
As I understand it. Gibbons was to
have received $130,000 for his bit.
A long string of knockouts by Tommy
had made possible the match.
Then Gibbous decided to take on
Harry Greb us a workout for the big
event. Greb, much lighter, won the
decision on points. The bout kilted tho
Dempsey match.
Gibbons was a sick man the night
be fought Greb. lie insisted on keep
ing his engagement and it cost him
a small fortune.
4 6 1 A
When Gibbous finally got a chance
against Dempsey he wos forced to
gamble on the gate. He went the lim
it, 15 rounds, with the champion but
received nothing but glory. Dempsey
got all the coin.
He next fought in Englnad against !
Britain's best. He waa to have re
ceived $40,000. The fight was a fizzle
financially and he was lucky to get
$15,000. '
Always the true sportsman, Gib
bons never refused to keep Mb en
gagements. Few other fighters would
have done the same,
The latest is that he has been
matched with Harry Wills for the big
gest guarantee ever offered him. So
it looks ns if being a regular fellow
was finally to be rewarded. -a ,,
