team-mate of Dick Srninh, new Ore
gon coach, and when tbey played on
the Columbia university team in 1!HH
Bishop made a lH-yard punt agniiwt
Yale, said to be the greatest of ail
time. Bishop has promised tu return
soon, and siaj for a couple of weeks.
He will take excutive ubarge of the
punters.
The famous punter of a decade ago
was visiting Salem, when Smith heart
of it. He telegraphed him to come to
Kugene, and turned over the duties o;
coaching the pouters to Bishop, who
has given valuable instruction to the
dozen oandidutos turuing out.
Bishop holds out muvh hope fo
Lynn Jones, all-coast full, Mimuuugh
