Saki. Necessary to
Announce Arrival
Of Babe, is Word
When a Japanese family makes the
proud announcement of the arrival of
a new son or daughter it is necessary
to invite the neighbors in to a party
and this also involves the serving of
saki, a Japanese alcoholic drink. All
this was explained to Van Svarvorud,
chief deputy sheriff, by O. Shiniizue,
resident of the Mabel district, yestcr
dny. ShUuizue was arrested recently
when a liquor rid was staged at Ma
bel but he promised to pay his fine
later as the day of the raid also gave
him a new daughter. The deputy call
ed on Khimizue yestordny to obtain
the fine. lie obtained the money and
in addition was introduced to the
baby. The infant was in the midst of
a bath and Vau Svarvcruil aided in
this hy holding the lamp while the
parents performed the ablutions.
