Plans for the dedication March 1 of
the new Congregational church at
Thirteenth avenue and Ferry street
will bo laid tonight at a business
meeting at the church, it Is announc
ed. Contractors erecting the building
have promised that it will be ready
for occupancy by March 1, and ar
rangNnentfl will be started for the
dedicatory program tonight.
Tbo new pipe organ to be installed
in the church will be here in time for
the dedication it was learned today.
The organ is believed to have arrived
at Portland, and will be in Kugene
some time this week for installation.
County Ferry Bids
Received by Court
Several bids ou the operation of
the new county ferry to cross the
Siuslaw between Florence and Olen
ada have been received by the county
court, according to announcement to
day. The bids will be opened Febru
ary 10 at 1 o'clock and it is expect
ed that by that time there will be sev
eral more- bids turned in, according
to members of tho county court. All
bids so far received have been from
residents of the diatrict adjacent to
the places where the ferry will operate.

Clyde N. Johnston, local attorney,
was the speaker today before the
